Festival Response to the Corona Virus Threat.
Having taken advice and discussed the situation with many people in the events industry, with those connected to Tangled Roots Festival including Radford Mill, and some ticket holders, I have decided to postpone the Tangled Roots Festival in June and to instead hold the festival on the 4th 5th and 6th of September 2020 at the same venue (Radford Mill).
This decision is not taken lightly, and I know many who will be disappointed. However, I don’t think we can risk carrying on with the event in June. My thoughts are that restrictions will likely get tighter in the next few months, the event license for the weekend could be withdrawn and, that we risk putting the farm, the local community and our visitors in harm’s way. The actions of the government suggest that they are extremely worried about the Coronavirus and are expecting a serious rate of infection, death and possibly further restrictions over the next 12 weeks.
I think for now it is best to reschedule and we will review the situation in July when we should have more of an idea of the scale of the problem and if it will be safe to continue with the September Event.
Luckily, we were already planning an event in September, so we have the venue booked and ready. We will be taking additional measures in light of what we have learned so far and plan to install more loos (and have them cleaned and refreshed every couple of hours), equip our food and drink outlets with contactless technology for taking payments and making more camping areas available so that tents and camper vans can be well spaced out.
Tickets already bought will be replaced with tickets for the September Festival (4/5/6 September) or, on request, with tickets for next years Festival which will take place at the same venue on the 11th, 12th and 13th of June 2021.
An email to all ticket holders will be sent on the 22nd of March outlining the details of how to contact us and what to do regarding replacement tickets.
Thank you for your interest in TANGLED ROOTS FESTIVAL and we look forward to welcoming you to Radford Mill Farm in September to finally hear the best of contemporary and traditional folk, acoustic and roots music from around the world.
All the best till then.
