Festival of Contemporary Folk, Roots and Traditional Music

The Radford Mill Tangled Roots Festival takes place over a weekend

The intention of the Radford Mill Tangled Roots Festival is to be a place that brings together those who love song and the making of music. A place where you will hear the musical roots of modern music including musical traditions from around the world, Folk music from across Europe and the America’s, Contemporary Folk, Americana, Modern Acoustic interpretations and A Cappella. The Saturday will see performances from carefully selected local, national and international artist, a focus on acoustic performances, quality song writing and the beauty of the human voice

The Radford Mill Tangled Roots Festival encourages participation with open stage spots and camp fire session late into the night. The main stage opens on the Saturday and closes around 11pm. However, the site stays open till late for people to congregate around the open fires and listen to acoustic performances till the early hours of Sunday. The camping fields open on Friday and stay open until 3pm on Sunday night as well, so we hope to see lots of impromptu performances and musical get togethers around the site on those days as well. We hope guests will bring their voices, instruments or hang out, relax and enjoy. (acoustic instruments only; amplification, drums and drumming are not allowed.)

The festival is intended to be a small scale and intimate affair and tickets numbers will be limited. In 2021 this means an absolute maximum of 500 Guests.

2021 will be the second year of the Redford Mill Tangled Roots Festival though the site has hosted folk festival in previous years and continues to host the Radford Mill Blues Festival in August.

Our intention is to make this a festival of that values quality over quantity and provides a beautiful experience for those lucky enough to have discovered us.
